Frequently Asked Questions

General Information

Where can I do coaching?

A majority of my coaching is done virtually from your computer. You have the option to record sessions, so that you can go back and review.  I also have limited availability to meet in-person in Bethesda, Maryland or Denver, Colorado.

Do I need to prepare in advance of the sessions?

Yes, you’ll have assignments to complete before each session. These will take approximately 3-10 hours.

What if I decide to stay in my current job or industry?

Coaching will help identify the talents you should hone to improve your performance and increase your personal satisfaction in your current role.

Individual Coaching

Can you tell me about the logistics of individual coaching?

Before the start date, we we’ll schedule a 15-minute call so I can coach you through your next steps. I’ll also send you some sign-up paperwork, a coaching agreement, and your first assignment.

We’ll meet at a mutually agreed upon date and time. Meetings will take place virtually on a online meeting platform.  I also have limited availability to meet in-person in Bethesda, Maryland or Denver, Colorado.  Each session includes an customized and engaging activity designed to help you define your career path.

You’ll have homework assignments in between sessions that are critical to the process.

If you purchase a package of four or more sessions, we will schedule several follow-up phone calls to support you with your next steps.

What does your customization look like?

It depends on your specific needs. I’ve assisted clients with a variety of topics from weighing out job options to preparing for job interviews. Since my background is in clinical social work, I use various proven techniques to help you build your confidence, overcome obstacles and clarify your career path.

Is individual coaching affordable?

I offer payment plans that allow you to spread the costs over the period we work together.

Many of my former clients switch into higher paying jobs that make them much happier and lead to a better-quality of life. There is no price tag that can be put on your increased happiness and work satisfaction.

What if I don’t like it—do you have a money-back guarantee?

I am very confident you will be extremely satisfied with individual coaching. However, since there is so much preparation that goes into each individual coaching session, I do NOT provide refunds. If you are dissatisfied, you can discontinue services at any point and I will be happy to issue you a refund for any unused sessions.

Small Group Coaching

Can you tell me about the logistics of small-group coaching?

Before the start date, we we’ll schedule a 15-minute call so I can coach you through your next steps. I’ll also send you some sign-up paperwork, a coaching agreement, and your first assignment.

We will meet on an online meeting platform for four 2.5-hour sessions.  I occasionally host in-person small-group coaching sessions in Bethesda, Maryland or Denver, Colorado.

Each session includes an engaging and interactive activity designed to help you define your career path.

After our fourth session, we will schedule one 30-minute follow-up phone call as a group to support you with your next steps.

How many people are in your groups?

Enrollment is capped at eight people for the Coaching for Career Direction workshop. I’ve found that this strikes the right balance between getting the benefit of group interaction and receiving individual attention from me as the facilitator.

What if I can‘t join this month’s small group?

I offer small-group coaching on a bimonthly basis. Please contact me if the scheduled days and times don’t fit with your schedule.

What if I can’t afford small-group coaching right now?

I offer payment plans that allow you to spread the cost over the period of the workshop. Many of my former clients switch into higher paying jobs that make them much happier and lead to a better-quality of life. You can’t put a price tag on increased happiness and work satisfaction.

What if I don’t like it—do you have a money-back guarantee?

I am very confident you will be extremely satisfied with small-group coaching. However, since there is so much preparation that goes into each small-group coaching session, I do NOT provide refunds. If you are dissatisfied, you can discontinue services at any point and I will be happy to issue you a refund for any unused sessions.

Business Services

Can you tell me more about the logistics of your workshops or speaking engagements?

Let’s schedule a time to speak so I can learn about your company’s needs. As a trained Career Development Facilitator Instructor and Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I can present on a variety of topics.

If you are interested in me facilitating your next career workshop, I will outline the content of the workshop and email you a proposal.

If you hire me as a keynote, many of my topics are designed to be 30-minute presentations followed by 15 minutes of Q&As; however, I can customize them to be longer.

Do you work with specific businesses?

I’ve worked with all types of organizations including corporations, nonprofits, as well as professional and religious groups on a variety of career development topics.

How do I enlist you as a speaker or workshop facilitator?

Please complete the contact form to the left of this page and let’s schedule a time to speak.

Can we make your content available to our event participants?

You can make my content available to your event participants via printouts, email, or Dropbox. However, I retain the rights to my intellectual property and I do not allow my content to be published on your website. I also use my branded templates when presenting materials to your participants.

Virtual Coaching

Can you tell me more about the logistics of virtual coaching?

I use an online meeting platform with my clients called Zoom. Like meeting in-person, we will be able to see and hear one another. It’s easy to use and it allows me to screen share and use other features with you. Moreover, it gives you the ability to record sessions. It takes less than five minutes to download and set up.

I will also send you worksheets to download or print prior to each session. This will require you to prepare in advance for each session.

What Are the Benefits of Virtual Coaching?

Virtual coaching saves you time. You do not need to drive to an office or worry about traffic. If you need an early morning meeting before work, this allows you to fit coaching around your busy schedule. Most importantly you can join me from anywhere in the world!

How Do You Read My Cues?

During virtual coaching, I read your facial expressions, listen to you, and observe your body language. Just like meeting face-to-face, I can tell when you’re present and when you’re struggling with something. Based on my observations, I tailor my sessions so that you get the most out of them.

I’m Not Sure Remote Coaching is Right for Me.

I totally understand your hesitation to try remote coaching. I’m happy to offer you a virtual complimentary consultation if you would like to give it a try.

Remote coaching is not for everyone. If you decide that you would prefer to meet a coach in-person, let me know and I’ll help you get to the right resources. I also have limited availability to meet in-person in Bethesda, Maryland or Denver, Colorado.
