With the arrival of fall, change is in the air! I've noticed that many of my clients have been making major changes in their lives, whether it be internal such as mindset shifts or external such as changing careers.
I've also been making some major changes including selling my home, moving into an apartment downtown, rebranding my business and website, and moving to a new office space at 1660 S. Albion Street (near CO Blvd. and I-25; pictured right).
Selling my home and moving to a new office space was a tremendous endeavor. It included getting rid of 2,100 sq ft of furniture, clothing, books, papers, and more. I admit that it was painful at times because I had many memories attached to the items that I had collected over the years. Making the decision to downsize meant that I could not take them all.
As I was getting rid of one item after another, it was a cathartic process— As if I was making space for something new to come into my life.
Interestingly enough, as I was in the process of packing and moving, I had one of my busiest months since I had started my business in regards to clients registering for both group and individual career coaching.
I am a firm believer that letting go allows something new to come in. I've seen this be true for my clients and myself.
I'm sure you can relate as this may be happening to you right now or may have happened to you in the past.
It reminds me of my favorite quotes (pardon the cursing), "You want to fly, you got to give up the shit that weighs you down." - Toni Morrison.
So as we move into fall, if there's any shit that's weighing you down, let it go.
